Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requires that you demonstrate an ability to reflect on the manner in which you solve problems during your daily activities. CPD is a form of life long learning associated with the constant need to keep up to date and improve your practice.
In this pack we have provided:
A diary in which you can record brief details of some of your activities over a three month period. The activities may represent a large amount of work over several weeks like introducing a new product or perhaps a customer survey as well as an individual event in your working day. Obviously you do not need to record everything you do - just the items involving informed decision making.
A reflection sheet in which you are asked to describe in detail a minimum of five of the more substantial diary activities in which you have been involved, identifying them by the reference number. You should then reflect on the outcomes and consider whether they could have been improved; you might identify a need to plan for gaining extra skills or more knowledge and think how your plans might be implemented. You should evaluate your actions in terms of whether you now feel better prepared to deal with similar situations in the future. Additional sheets may be added by ‘cutting and pasting’ pages 6 and 7.
